Anna + Mirko’s Wedding
05.24.2024
Ceremony - Holy Family Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan
Reception - The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township, Michigan
My day started with capturing Mirko getting ready with his closest friends and family surrounding him. I normally ask grooms how they are feeling around this point and Mirko told me that he was super nervous. I reassured him that after he saw Anna, all worries would leave and he would be able to enjoy the day fully. I think he was just really giddy and antsy to finally see Anna, rather than being '“nervous”.
This was my first time at the Holy Family Catholic Church in downtown Detroit and I sure hope it’s not my last. The church was STUNNING, just as stunning as Anna was on this day, and the church photographed so beautifully. Anna and Mirko are very traditional and decided to not do a first look before the ceremony. Anna was walked down the aisle by her dad where Anna was met by her future husband who was trying to secretly wipe a few tears away before she reached the end of the aisle.
There was time before the reception so we decided to make a quick stop at the Detroit Institute of Art (The DIA) in Detroit and take some group photos as well as some photos of Anna and Mirko. I loved the chemistry between the group, everyone was having a great time cheering on the newlyweds and embracing the day for the two of them. The photos of Anna and Mirko were so sweet. They both were so gentle with the way they held each other and how they talked to each other. You could tell they were made for each other and really cared for one another.
Walking into the reception space, I truly was in awe at how stunning everything was set up. Flowers, candles, and elegance galore. I could not stop taking photos because I didn’t think any photo could truly capture the beauty of the space I was in. It screamed traditional Italian wedding. There were wine bottles set up at every table, an espresso bar for the long night of dancing, and of course traditional spumoni ice cream for dessert.
This wedding truly felt like a fairytale and it wasn’t even my wedding. Scroll down to look at Anna and Mirko’s wedding through my eyes.
